I have a great job. I write code for 8 hours each day, and then I go home and write more code. I find my work (both inside and outside of my day job) to be self-inspiring, but I've found a way to make it even better.

I competed in my second Startup Weekend event last weekend. During both events, I worked to validate and develop ideas that were not my own. My team has never won. In fact, we've never even placed. But that's not important in my opinion. I leave each event inspired in all facets of life, and to me, that's valuable.

It's now a proven fact that I'm more productive in the weeks following Startup Weekend than at any other time of the year. I find myself dwelling less over obstacles and working harder toward solutions.

It's your turn to be inspired. Find a Startup Weekend event near you.
