A friend told me about someone at their company who got caught using ChatGPT to answer client questions during a live meeting - copying the questions in, reading the responses back, right there in front of the client. They'd been in the role long enough that nobody had been checking their work too closely.

Everyone lies. That's not a controversial statement and I don't mean it as a judgment - it's just an observable fact about how people operate. But not all lies serve the same purpose, and I think most people don't spend much time asking themselves who a given lie is actually for.
